Baseball Lite --- by Robert P Dale (rdale@norden1.com)
Welcome to my first released program!
This was written with Visual Basic 4.0 for Windows95.
Internet connectivity was provided with Devsoft's IPPort control,
(http://www.devlink.com) and the IconTray control developed by Scott
Adkins.
Baseball Lite is a simple program for those who want updated baseball
scores without the computer load of Java and Netscape sitting in the
background. Once every few minutes it pulls down the scores from
USA Today (www.usatoday.com) and pulls out all of the "In Progess"
and "Completed" numbers and cycles through the list continuously.
If you don't want it on the screen but would like updating to continue
just click on the "H" -- it will disappear. Click on the baseball icon
(WIN95) to bring it back. Also, if you move the mouse over the baseball
in the tray you'll see the last update time.
To keep the form on top (like the 3.1 clock) just click on the checkbox -
to move the screen click and hold the checkbox, then move it to
wherever you want.
When you're all done, double-click on the background of the score form
to quit.
This all is just a little intro to get you interested in the full
program. "Sports Scores" allows you to choose different servers,
click on the score to get play-by-play updates and allows you to
select different sports. The registered version is available for
only $19.95.
If you're interested in getting updates via your pager, and it can
be reached by EMail (I know USA Mobile is available, others may
be as well) I have a program that will automatically dial at
a time interval you set, get the latest score and scoring update
and route it to your pager, then disconnect. That'll run you $10.
Individual Lite programs will be available at no cost.
If you have any bug / suggestion reports or are interested in the
full version, feel free to contact me at any time.
